Fairewell – Born Under a Bad Sign // Song Of The Day #330
Today sees us reveal a very promising new act from the ever reliable Sonic Cathedral stable. Fairewell is the nom-de-plume of London based Johnny White who will be known to a few eagle-eyed folks as the brains behind The Rollercoaster Project. ‘Born Under A Bad Sign’ is the first glimpse from the forthcoming debut album Poor, Poor Grendel and sees White emerge with a lovingly crafted lo-fi pop gem that mixes lyrical whimsy with a soft focus wall of sound: Belle & Sebastien meets The Radio Dept. perhaps. Regardless, it’s a genuinely intriguing introdcuction.
The Shacklewell Arms, London’s newest venue of choice for the discerning hipster, will be hosting Fairewell’s album launch show on December 6. One for your diaries.
