Blog darling Ella Vos keeps her family close on “Little Brother”
“White Noise”, the debut single from Ella Vos, topped the both Hypemachine and Spotify Viral Charts. Follow-up “Little Brother” is more of the same sparse yet infectious pop, Vos’ vocal overlying thoughtful electronic production.
“Little Brother” - whilst more upbeat than “White Noise” - originally stemmed from a place of fear and pain. As “White Noise” tackled the prickly topic of post-natal depression “Little Brother” moves in a different direction. The song was written in the wake of a car accident involving Vos’ younger sibling. Lyrically, it explores the relationship between the two of them, and the desire for closeness exacerbated by the close brush with trauma.
"The song is about my brother, for my brother, and for myself,” Vos states. Thankfully her brother is still alive and well - we can only hope that both the accident and the track it inspired strengthened their familial bond!
