Electronica producer Niven challenges convention on new track "Heart Click"
Niven is today sharing atmospheric new number "Heart Click", the first single from upcoming EP Dragonfly.
The London-based producer is currently readying the follow up to last year's swooning Manta Ray collection, which featured tracks such as "Alleviate", "Rapture (ft. Natalie)", and "Midnight SlowDance".
"A tangled mess of synths it sat, forgotten, on my hard drive for almost a year before I rediscovered it," says Niven of the new offering. "After playing around with it for a day or two managed to tame it into something a bit more manageable by adding the vocal line."
The chopped-up samples and synth lines on "Heart Click" all contribute to a rich, textured track that oozes warmth and humanity, with titanic waves of sound all congealing in the closing moments for a rousing finalé on par with the grandest post rock. With campfire-crackle buzzes and a barrage of soft percussion, Niven tames the synthetic world of electronica and transforms it into a natural beast, toying with dynamics and structural rifts to betray convention.
