Copenhagen via Reykjavik soloist Dísa spooks to the bone on her third track shared on Soundcloud, the explosive minimalism of "Sculpture".
The project of Dísa Jakobs, who says she takes inspiration from Brian Eno and Fever Ray, "Sculpture" is an exercise in how to feign maximalism from just a few sparse and recycled elements: guitar sludge, solitary beats and piano chords, and call and response vocals. At the one minute mark it sounds like the kind of warped, electronic Scandi music we love. At the three minute mark the song feasts beast-like on all its components. Truly exciting work.
