The Line of Best Fit
London soloist Desta French satisfies our RnB sweet tooth with brand new cut "Take You For Dead".
Set upon a bed of chunky beats, squelchy bass, sophisticated synth and soulful vocals, "Take You For Dead" exuberates the class Jessie Ware so possesses.
"It's about that annoying feeling when everything seems incomplete - in that moment of helplessness and there's nothing you can do about it", Desta said.
"I write songs about it and it makes that feeling a little bit of a celebration in a way."
Where there might be some lyrical ambiguity, musically the track is sharp and focussed: a no-frills piece of modern and infectious pop.
