Listen: Demob Happy - "Young & Numb"
Demob Happy begin their headline European and UK tour next month. It's no surprise the Brighton/Newcastle four piece can enjoy such attention off the back of a handful of songs - they write enviably catchy, raw and upfront tunes.
So much so that within seconds of listening to latest track "Young & Numb", Nirvana's ability to spew out at once infectious and grating grunge comes immediately to the fore. A splurge of phaser-like guitars at the verse and curled-lip lyrics, to gritty distortion and hefty screams at the chorus, "Young & Numb" is a kick in the spine and a certain breath of fresh air.
