Bursting out of the starting blocks with a sense of absolute urgency and youthful abandon, Welsh quintet Cut Ribbons return today with brand new single ‘Damascus’, the follow-up to ‘White Horses’ – released last year via boutique tape label Kissability.
Rousing indie-pop at its finest, Cut Ribbons play it straight with a heads down, no nonsense approach to their craft and deliver sweet as sugar harmonies over a relentless, unfaltering rhythm section. Sorta like being repeatedly smacked in the face by an oversized custard cream.
‘Damascus’ is released via limited edition 7″ via Barely Regal on September 24. Cut Ribbons play the Reading Festival on August 25 and Leeds Festival on August 26.
Cut Ribbons will join Among Brothers and Best Fit Recordings’ FAYE for a very special show on October 17 at London’s Shacklewell Arms courtesy of Eat Your Own Ears. Entry is free, but to avoid disappointment on the night it’s advised you claim your complimentary ticket here in advance. RSVP via Facebook here.
