We’re still not quite sure where exactly Cults sprang on us from. One minute they weren’t there, the next, they’d infiltrated music blogs around the world with their ringing nostalgic 60s pop-rock. Today’s Song Of The Day comes from these scamps from across the Atlantic, the tour buddies of the likes of Small Black and Asobi Seksu.
‘Abducted’, Cults’ new single from their forthcoming eponymous LP, is a gloriously up tempo track, tinged with summertime and devastated romance from a boy/girl perspective. It’s a perfect track for this balmy springtime heat, and a bit of an insight into what they’ll be doing when they head this way in May to play a handful of British dates and festivals.
‘Abducted’ is out 6 June via In The Name Of / Columbia. The debut album is out 30 May.
