UK collective CROOX have had a good 2015. They released their debut EP EU earlier this year, consisting of 4 tracks with accompanying visuals shot in Berlin, London, Barcelona and Paris, made a video for their debut single "Oracle", and had a summer full of festivals and support slots for Kate Boy and Astronomyy for their London shows.
Taken from their next EP, CROOX are now releasing a new single "CRYING" just in time to see the year out. Mastered by Stuart Hawkes, whose previous works include Amy Winehouse, Jessie Ware and Lorde, it’s a delicious slice of breezy electronica imbued with a sexy R&B vibe. Appropriate comparisons have been made to the likes of FKA Twigs, and it's CROOX's sparse and sultry form of electronica/R&B which makes them such worthy peers.
Intentionally mysterious and enigmatic, CROOX nevertheless have a distinct charm which goes beyond their strict agenda of concealment and builds the excitement surrounding their forthcoming EP. Speaking about the track, the band says: ''Break up songs are usually about missing someone or how much better you are without them. 'CRYING' was inspired by the feeling of just not giving a sh*t about that person anymore. A celebration of not having to deal with anyone's issues and actually looking forward to someone else having to deal with it." Check out "CRYING" below, and revel in the allure of an outfit on the cusp of taking their next big step. Tour dates listed below.
