Gwilym Gold was one of the most exciting finds of this year’s Great Escape. Clad in black and softly spoken, the ex-Golden Silvers man certainly had something of the night about him; his set was all ominous beats and calculatedly heartwrenching crescendos, pieced together from a Rhodes and a sampler.
Here, Gold takes on Bullion‘s ‘If You Want To Reach Me’, recasting it as the work of some sort of post-apocalyptic barbershop troupe – complete with bulbous kick drum and buzzsaw synths.
Gwilym Gold’s self-remixing single Flesh Freeze is out now. Meanwhile Bullion’s essential EP You Drive Me To Plastic has just been re-released.
