Two of the best-named producers in the country are putting out a split single together. Becoming Real and Dam Mantle will be releasing two new tracks on Getme next month – a record that might well win the prize for the best collection of monikers on any record of the year.
Becoming Real’s ‘Paramnesia’ marks a new aesthetic for the producer. The misty, gloom-laden sound of ‘Closer’ or ‘Antarctic City’ has become brighter, more clamorous. Crystalline synths and popping percussion form the basis of a strangely agitating track that builds without ever quite crescendoing.
‘Paramnesia’ is out 27 February on Getme.
