Originally having started out as a duo, Seattle groove-merchants Beat Connection over the course of the past twelve or so months fleshed out as a fully formed ‘band’ and with that, the original progressive balearic nature of their early work became more focused and ‘pop’ orientated on their superb debut full length The Palace Garden. Here, the group go back to basics on the b-side to new single ‘Think/Feel’ (out via Tender Age / Moshi Moshi on November 12). Completely instrumental, ‘Of Showers’ is all atmospherics and late night grooves – pretty much the most minimal sounding thing they’ve ever done. Another string to their bow of diversity.
