Nothing is “Off Limits” when it comes to the new track by BAYNK and Glades
“Off Limits” is the latest release by wunderkind producer and New Zealand native BAYNK, who has teamed up with Sydney-bred trio Glades to show the best of what the southern hemisphere has to offer when it comes to sophisticated electro-pop.
In the wake of this year’s pulsating electronica of BAYNK's “Be In Love” and recent outing “Settle” featuring British singer-songwriter Sinead Harnett, he joins forces with Glades. Understated, bassy beats imbue a jaunty rhythm to the track, following hot on the heels of the Aussie band's recently released debut album To Love You. Showing a different side to the band thanks to BAYNK’s delectable touch, ‘Off Limits’ carries a lighter energy in comparison to Glades’ anthemic, punchy and emotive pop.
Detailing confessional musings and apprehensions of burgeoning romance as if they were penned in a journal, vocalist Karina Wykes weaves an undeniably relatable thread through the otherwise upbeat track. “I remember the night I was tongue-tied / and we both kept our secrets inside,” she sings in a crystalline timbre, pensive yet hopeful. “You said we should always be honest / but being honest is always the hardest”.
