Azekel says his sublime new track is a "pre-apocalyptic celebration of life"
East London crooner Azekel has returned with "Can We Have Fun (In This House Tonight)", a supremely smooth slow jam packed with heart.
The producer/multi-instrumentalist is following up last year's Raw, Vol. 2 release (as well as his Gorillaz and Massive Attack collaborations) with a solid-gold tune.
Azekel's latest outing sparkles with classic soul flourishes and woozy neo-R&B hues - it's a blurring of eras with crisp production by the bucketload and a flawless voice front and centre. More like this, please.
"It’s a pre-apocalyptic celebration of life, every time I'm on my timeline or hear the news it's full of fear..." explains Azekel. "Yeah it's pretty obvious that the world as we know it is coming to an end but we can still turn up."
"Can We Have Fun (In This House Tonight)" will appear on Azekel's upcoming debut album, which is set to be "presented in three chapters". The first piece of the puzzle is expected "soon".
