Atlanter breeze away the winter blues with "Jareeze"

03 December 2015, 10:00 | Written by Jessica Goodman

With the first track from their second album, Norwegian psych-rock outfit Atlanter have perfected the formula for summer bliss.

"Jareeze" is a million miles away from the dark days and cold nights we currently find ourselves in. Sweltering guitar solos bubble with the heat, vocal melodies glide along like a refreshing breeze. A spiralling instrumental breaks down through any sense of structure, transporting via a haze of tropical refrains and heated melodies.

The track features on Atlanter's forthcoming second record, Jewels of Crime.

Jens Carelius says of the track: "It's about a woman I used to date called Jareeze, who always wore high heels. Our wasted love were never meant to be. But like the master Cohen says: 'Oh, sometimes I see her undressing for me. She's the soft naked lady love meant her to be.' Like a song about a ghost in high heels."

Jewels of Crime is released via Jansen Plateproduksjon on 22 January 2016.
