The most satisfying meals come down to not only the entrée but the side items as well. What’s a medium filet mignon with cold, bland potatoes or, perhaps, with a discordant side such as Mexican rice? Exactly. Well, how would you like your dream pop complemented with slivers of soul and a dusting of psych?
Exactly. You’ve arrived at the right smorgasbord then, as Norway/Ireland/Brazil via Liverpool trio All We Are’s latest single “Stone” is primed to leave your belly delightfully full. This latest song exclusively features bassist Guro Gikling and her blissful, heaven-scraping vocals wading amidst an ether of reverb and twinkling guitar.
Gikling floats breathily, anchored by merely the light but effective percussion. Hanging suspended at one point, perilously close to floating off to the never, the trio resets mid song and Gikling thrillingly pushes skyward and positively soars over the song’s final third.
All We Are’s self-titled debut LP is due out 2 February courtesy of Domino Recordings, with a deluxe vinyl pack available for pre-order here. Catch the band at the following upcoming UK & Ireland dates:
