Finishing off a year that saw him graduate from university and play a debut slot at Glastonbury, to say that 2016 looks set to be a big one for Alfie Connor is as safe a bet as they come. And with his latest offering "Love and Affection" it’s easy to see why.
Chic-esque guitars are framed expertly by chopped electronic elements more suited to a certain Chip of the Hot variety, whilst Connor’s impressive vocal provides the perfect accompaniment to the ever-bouncing percussion. The resultant track is hard to resist and on the whole, is one of massive proportions.
This sense of addictive euphoria is something that the Sheffield native aimed for from the off: “'Exciting but dangerous romance are always appealing to me. I wanted to drive really fast to this track, then dance, then kiss somebody", he says. Stream "Love and Affection" below, it's Song Of The Day.
