Comprising members of Hot Chip, Spiritualized and This Heat, About Group are a pretty esteemed bunch already. It makes sense, then, to pass remix duties on to someone equally revered.
Step forward house legend Theo Parrish, who has reinterpreted ‘You’re No Good’ as a slinky, percussion-oriented lounge-jazz number. The remix (or ‘Translation’, as Parrish would have it) has a deconstructed, atomised feel, and keeps hold of some of the tempo slips that make the original so charming.
‘You’re No Good’ is taken from Start and Complete, About Group’s semi-improvised second album. It’s right good and no mistake.
