ZAE can't make it clear enough on tongue-in-cheek pop cut "Swing That Way"
Every woman on the planet knows what it's like being hit on by a guy who won't take no for an answer, but this Pride month London's ZAE puts a sapphic spin on the age-old experience.
"Swing That Way" sees ZAE deliver tongue-in-cheek lyrics with the cut-glass precision that's becoming her signature. It has a very different sound to what we've heard from her thus far: stepping away from the woozy synths of "Faking Love" and the drama of "Letting Go" and "F.W.U." to showcase yet another side to her songwriting ability. Still in the electro-pop ballpark, "Swing That Way" sets ZAE's vocal against a playful, summery backdrop that perfectly animates the track's message without pulling any punches.
Keeping things lighthearted definitely suits ZAE – "Swing That Way" is a cut ready to play on repeat and soundtrack all your sun-drenched antics.
