XYLØ loop menacing vocals to create glittering glitchpop eye-opener "Afterlife"

22 July 2015, 16:45 | Written by Laurence Day

Sister-brother pop twosome XYLØ - AKA Paige and Chase Duddy -

"Afterlife" is XYLØ's third public offering, following the Hollywood grandeur of "America", and the swooning "Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea".

With cyclic, pained vocals, looped into a rhythmic Pogo-esque take on Lana Del Rey or Lorde's outsider-pop, this is a gritty post-glamour world that XYLØ inhabit. They speak of overwhelming anxiety, the class divide and self-esteem, they provide a genuinely dark twist on the soulful finger-snap sounds of pop's most dramatic performers.

Debut live shows and some new music are reportedly on the way.
