Interlacing celestially frosted dream-pop melodies has quick become melancholic chic as of late, and Brooklyn-via-London trio Wilsen is one of latest, and finest, acts to toss their hat into the ring.
Following in the footsteps of Daughter, one of the recent forerunners of the sound as well as a band they supported on tour last year, Tamsin Wilson and company marry together a folksy acoustic sensibility with cavalcades of pristine guitar leads.
The band’s latest, “Go Try”, our second glimpse of their upcoming Magnolia EP, follows in this same vein of the previously revealed title track, albeit a shade more wistful. Wilson’s vocals tend toward delicacy more so than Daughter’s Elena Tonra, yet Wilsen exhibits the same magnificent penchant for melding the ethereal with the terrestrial.
Magnolia EP is released 19 May while Wilsen plays a slew of upcoming dates, including a headlining show and a pair of the Great Escape festival appearances listed below:
30 April – Dingwalls, London (supporting Matthew & The Atlas)

7 May – St. John on Bethnal Green, London (solo, supporting Broken Twin)
