Widowspeak share cover of Third Eye Blind's "How's It Going To Be"
Following the release of their third album All Yours earlier this month, Widowspeak have shared a cover of Third Eye Blind's "How's It Going To Be".
The cover is a dreamy, spaced-out folk take on the rock band's distinctive style - almost unrecognisable in Widowspeak's hands, as the band make the song entirely their own.
"The first Third Eye Blind record was the first CD I ever bought for myself, like with my own money," frontwoman Molly Hamilton says of the inspiration for the cover. "I listened to this song way more than “Jumper” or “Semi-Charmed Life.” I sort of always gravitated towards the melancholy, even as a younger person who didn’t really understand what it was about. The lyrics are great: “soft dive of oblivion...” We kept it sparse, because that’s how it always felt to me: kind of lonely.
"How's It Going To Be" forms the a-side of Widowspeak's Two Covers EP. Stream the track below.
