If chestnuts roasting on an open fire and Jack Frost nipping at your toes sounds like hell on earth to you, then Nashville-based singer Whissell's festive number might just be for you.
"All I Get For Christmas Is Blue" is a soulful, unseasonal torch song and the perfect soundtrack for the end to this fucker of a year.
Doleful organ swirls and doomy piano keys combine with sweeping strings, ominous bells and Whissell's sulty, red-wine-soaked delivery of lines like "when you play my song / play it slowly / play it like I'm sad and lonely" to make this the most gloriously miserable and wintry experience.
"All I Get For Christmas Is Blue" is out now on Spotify.
