Emergent pop star Whinnie Williams dazzles on “What About Me” produced by Crystal Bats
Effortlessly glamorous, “What About Me” is Whinnie Williams at her most poised.
A definite standout out amongst the sea of starved and contrived electropop, “What About Me” is graceful, audacious and a testament to Willams’ powerful songwriting ability. Both William’s and producer Will Vaughan manage to capture the essence of classic female-led pop songs from the likes of Cyndi Lauper and Teena Marie whilst ensuring that the production is rooted in modernity. If you are on the lookout for groove-laden and emotionally invested anthems then look no further.
In her own words: “I was going through a phase where I felt like I was helping a lot of people but wasn’t getting the same back, so I was In the studio with Will Vaughan from Crystal Bats and we were working on a song and I just sang out the line “What About Me!!” I wanted to tap into the Crystal Bats sound with my RnB melodies and I love the combination!”
