When 'Airy Met Fairy paint heartbreak in a magical new light on "Until Your Season Dries"
When 'Airy Met Fairy are Icelander Thorunn Egilsdottir and Luxembourger Mike Koster, and together they produce deeply atmospheric and heartwrenchingly beautiful music.
"Until Your Season Dries" is a song that basks in understated beauty, where Egilsdottir works through the complexity of her emotions following the separation from her child's father.
It sees her find strength in the circumstances and let go of any feeling of aggrievement or bitterness that she may have felt as she eloquently sheds the skin of her previous love and breaks free completely. She finds contentment within the folds of the slow, enveloping layers of melodies as they glisten with a compelling magic that is hard to put your finger on.
"Love is like a battlefield and when it dies, it’s like two sinking war ships," Explains Egilsdottir of the emotion that lies within the song, adding "After the storm comes peace and quiet. There is something so infinitely beautiful in the afterlife of a relationship."
The track is taken from the duo's upcoming album Glow, which was released in Europe last year but will become available in the UK on 22 June.
