Last week, New York trio Wet released their self-titled debut EP, and of its four pop hits, “You’re The Best” sticks out most on the smooth-as-velvet release.
It’s only been a fortnight since Wet caught our attention with their slow jam “No Lie”, but these three young friends clearly mean business as they’ve got us hooked again. This time it’s less of the retro RnB and more of the super-slowed down pop, as “You’re The Best” highlights the trio’s mastery of making melodies sweet, layered without becoming too rich. There’s a lot of thoughtfulness behind this track, and the result is a delightfully tight tune that’s only going to increase the deserved attention on Wet.
