Wet are three young friends from Brooklyn who like to make soulful electronic music. ‘No Lie’ is a beautiful taster of what to expect from the trio’s upcoming self-titled EP.
To describe ‘No Lie’ as a minimal track – upon which vocalist Kelly Zutrau’s mellifluous voice sits perfectly – would be, albeit true, something of a misdeed. In today’s electronic music scene, replete with ambience and sparse vocals, it might be easy for such a description to get lost; particularly for a new outfit like Wet. But the retro RnB sound and lush production of this song certainly deserves recognition, and the sad yet sexy atmosphere that the trio masterfully create makes clear what ‘No Lie’ really is: a bonafide slow-jam.
The Wet EP is available 15 October from Neon Gold Records.
