WEIRDO + CO drop "Fucked Up", their nonchalant dismissal of routine
Berlin-based three-piece WEIRDO + CO pair bravado with breezy pop stylings on latest track "Fucked Up".
Bold and full of swagger, "Fucked Up" is just one of many indie-pop smashes the trio have released since expanding into a band. Originally a solo project from Josh Christopher of IYES, WEIRDO + CO (fka WEIRDO) have already shared a handful of their no-holds-barred, politically motivated tracks since re-emerging as a collective voice.
Up until now "Count Me Out", was the premier example of what Christopher and friends Pierre Leck and René Corbett have been trying to achieve, but "Fucked Up" is clearly a mission statement.
While it speaks about breaking through the mundanity of everyday life, the more pop-leaning sound is almost sugary, making the track anything but trivial. With live shows on the horizon WEIRDO + CO are preparing to take their technicolour movement on the road.
