Waylayers share new anthemic synthpop single "Pharaoh" from Re:Verse EP [Premiere]
London trio Waylayers are sharing new single "Pharaoh", taken from their upcoming Re:Verse EP, exclusively on Best Fit.
The track is a runaway blend of gigantic synthpop melodies and half-whispered, half-spat vocals akin to Wild Beasts. With chorus harmonies some way between the soundtrack to classic Sonic The Hedgehog, modern dance and legendary '80s power-pop, it's the kind of track that paves the way for a life-changing summer.
Speaking about the track and EP, the band's Harry Waylayers said: "The new EP looks at love in reverse; of falling upwards, walking into it whilst not moving, and this plays into Pharaoh. Its looking at a dream of lovers past."
The Re:Verse EP is out 8 June on Alcopop!, and you can pre-order it here. It's been mixed by the Grammy nominated Tom Forrest (Duke Dumont).
