Swedish hypno-pop svengali Zhala has just unfurled her visuals for recent single "Aerobic Lambada".
The clip is directed by acclaimed documentarian Ester Martin Bergsmark (Maggie in Wonderland, She Male Snails).
Speaking about the decisions that went into the mini-film, Zhala says:
"The song describes the itchy feeling you get in your butt when you have to adjust to different social contexts but you can't, that frustration, and also stress, when you hurry in slow motion, and I wanted to keep that feeling in the video and create a dream and reality that is fused together. We wanted the video to capture Sweden, Swedish nature and Swedish society from our perspective."
It was filmed around Zhala's home of Stockholm with her friends and family, and features costume design from This Is Sweden, a project "based on two refugee children growing up in Sweden and trying to reclaim the right to define themselves as Swedes and claim Sweden as their home".
Zhala is Konnichiwa Records' debut signing - which is helmed by Robyn - and hopefully we can see the follow up to last year's Prophet EP soon.
