Watch: Warpaint – Billie Holiday (Rough Trade Session)
(Arguably) everybody’s favourite ladies, the brilliant and spellbinding Warpaint recently recorded a series of songs in session for our country’s most dear record shop, Rough Trade (less easy to argue on that one).
Above is their rendition of fan favourite ‘Billie Holiday’, beautifully-shot with the camera panning between each of the member’s faces, perfectly encapsulating the performance without it seeming like a Queen video or anything.
You can see the other numbers performed – ‘Burgundy’, ‘Majesty’ and ‘Composure – below.
The tracks performed are taken from the Deluxe Edition of Warpaint’s The Fool album (reissued 26 September). The package is a double disc release containing their debut, plus Exquisite Corpse EP and other rarities.
