Watch: Thea & The Wild – Cry Sometimes
Half British, half Norwegian Thea Glenton Raknes – former lead vocalist of Norma Sass – eschews the conventional model of glossy female led Scandinavian pop in favour of a rougher, though no less charmingly melodic sound with her latest project, Thea & The Wild.
The Oslo dwelling outfit recently debuted their video for ‘Cry Sometimes’, a brooding, bluesy number carved asunder by incessantly buzzing guitars, ahead of their debut show at by:Larm this week. Thea’s sunny vocal hook of “Babe I think it’s good to cry sometimes” clambers aloft over the stripped back jingling of percussive instruments and fuzzy synths while the uncomplicated visuals document sibling relationships, taking in some beautiful Scandinavian tundra along the way. Thought you couldn’t be anymore excited for by:Larm? Think again.
