Watch: Spring King - "City"
As winter is crawling away at a snail's pace, Spring King give it a right old boot with their latest track "City".
Directed by Chloe Little, the urgency presented in the track is emphasised further in the alarming visuals, described by Little as "the Loneliness of the Feminist Bank Robber".
Blinded by balaclavas, the connotation between the track name and the bank robbery concept is an intriguing angle, particularly with the obviousness surrounding the classic crimes of bank robberies in cities. Spring King waste no time with handcuffing us to the speakers with their persistent drums and unforgiving, shouty vocals, and with the fast-paced, somewhat psychedelic visuals, the chaotic combination is completely fitting.
'City' will undoubtedly translate well on stage, particularly with their barborous energy that ripples across the room with the force of a hurricane. Spring King will undoubtedly engulf Austin this month at SXSW, and with balaclavas in tow, 'City' will contain the crowd like fugitives.
Spring King release their They’re Coming After You EP on 20 April via Handsome Dad Records.
