Sigur Rós have posted a teaser video entitled ‘INNI’ on their website with little explanation as to what it is for. Having released their last album three years ago, before taking an indefinite hiatus last year rumours that this is the prelude to a live tour DVD (the video largely featuring live footage) seem more likely than a teaser for a new record but without confirmation from the band it would be impossible to say for sure.
Update: Having posted a new video on their website yesterday with little explanation, Sigur Rós‘ ‘Inni’ sparked rumours of a live tour DVD and album teaser, but now The Playlist reports ‘Inni’ is a brand new film, directed by Vincent Morisset (the man behind Arcade Fire’s Miroir Noir documentary). Due to be screened as part of Venice Days, an offshoot of the Venice Film Festival, details are still being kept under wraps but it is being billed as a ‘film event.’ With the festival not due to kick off until 31 August, we shall have to wait to find exactly what ‘Inni’ is.
