Beautifully fulfilling the potential that has been simmering away for the best part of three years, Rae Morris has unveiled a stunning monochrome video to accompany the first taster of her debut album, due later this year.
Following in the footsteps of fellow pop starlet Lucy Rose, the young Atlantic Records signee features heavily on the forthcoming Bombay Bicycle Club record, but this new track confirms what a prospect Morris is in her own right: an endearing whispered vocal seamlessly floats above the music box piano and Ariel Rechtshaid’s (Haim, Vampire Weekend) immaculate production.
Passion and poise appear in equal measure for a chorus that begs to be returned to and, with its similarly bewitching video, “Skin” gently foreshadows a breakthrough year ahead for another talented young Brit.
