We’re very much hoping that patten‘s excellent debut makes it into everyone’s end of year lists. The press release for the album references both musique concrète and “2000s Funktion One bass pressure”, and that’s pretty spot on. It’s a claustrophobic, oppressive record that manages to sound both oddly timeless and utterly modern.
