Bath-via-London producer NIVEN's track "Alleviate" is a robust piece of pop-slathered electronica.
The track is soulful yet glitchy - it's got heart to it, and is a deviation from lots of avante-garde techno around nowadays that thrives on distance and a chilly touch. It's intimate, melodic and endearingly scatterbrained. There's ambient synths underneath NIVEN's bass-heavy undergrowth, but there's also Oliver Wilde-style guitars and chiming left hooks.
Directed/filmed/edited by Kieran Leahy, the video sees Niven perform the track live, straight from the front room.
