Watch: Madeline Mondrala – Bad Kid
Born and raised in LA, now living in NYC, Madeline Mondrala is a vocalist and Arts school student currently blending classically nuanced pop styles to hypnotic perfection.
Watching her recent mini-opera ‘Bad Kid’ it’s easy to see why she’s beginning to pique the interest of UK radio’s heaviest hitters in Mary-Anne Hobbs, John Kennedy and Huw Stephens. The focal point of the beautifully choreographed and performed visuals, Madeline exercises her weary strut whilst crowing, ‘I’m tired of willing myself free, I wanna be excavated’ over tingling piano notes, sliding guitars and despondent strings; all part of a fourteen-piece orchestra featuring on the track.
Madeline has an EP, Cloud, in the offing and if ’Bad Kid’ alone isn’t enough to whet your appetite, the other sassy Fiona Apple flavoured teaser, ‘Blood Brother’ might do the trick. We’re already sold.
