Watch: Girls record live in-store
Last night, while the majority of you lot were socialising, drinking beer and having success communicating with members of the opposite sex, I was cooped indoors, watching two of my favourite bands from the comfort of my own sofa. I didn’t even need to put my shoes on or make stunted conversation with anyone, God bless the internet. Now who’s the foolish one?
Along with Bright Eyes airing their performance at the Austin City Limits festival via Youtube (which was pretty appropriate timing seeing as anyone spending their Friday night alone with only Twitter as company must be a fan of Conor and co, right?) Girls also played an online in-store, streaming their gig live from Nashville at 6pm EDT/5pm CDT, or 11pm British speak.
The event took place in the city’s Grimey’s record store and was entitled ‘Girls Across America’, which if I told anybody coming in drunk what I was watching would have made my night appear a lot more deprived than in actual fact.
The group were fleshed-out for the live performance, along with a full band and female backing vocalists. They played ‘Honey Bunny’,‘Magic’, ‘Love Like A River’, ‘Vomit’ and ‘My Ma’ from new album Father, Son, Holy Ghost, along with ye olde classic ‘Laura’.
