Roughly two years ago, Paul Dixon began sending out links to his first single, titled “Solace”, under a new alias.
It could have been the end of a long road of moderate success and major-label fallout, one that began under the pseudonym David’s Lyre. Over half a million plays later, Dixon’s name is now synonymous with that of alter-ago Fyfe, and here we are, with the release of the video for that breakout track.
The video serves as an indication that this is all really, finally happening, that Fyfe will in fact be releasing a debut album and headlining shows in the (very) near future. It also mirrors the journey up to this point admirably. Dixon begins the video covered in paint - the artist serves as the canvas, serving as a channel for his muses (shout to Sophie Derrick and Daniel Brereton) before sharing it all with the world, one brush stroke at a time.
