Bristol’s Empty Pools follow their recent debut album release with this animated video to latest single “Slack Tide”.
In the clip, directed by Francesca Adams, an animated blob of consciousness lives out the Groundhog Day-esque, humdrum 9-to-5 that we all know all too well. In a straightforward but highly relatable analogy, the world and everything in it continues to turn apart from our blue, plum protagonist, whose fuse is well and truly burnt. As he listens to his headphones our focus returns to the song, with its warm, humble melodies and glittering guitar tones, and as it reaches its close our pal is inspired to make the bold step off the boring, circular world that is our all-encompassing daily routine.
Give it a watch on the way to work; you might even get inspired yourself.
