Watch: Dralms - "Crushed Pleats" [Premiere]
Vancouver-based producer Christopher Smith has unveiled the video for "Crushed Pleats", his debut track under latest guise, Dralms.
Dralms may be spearheaded by Smith, but it also features frequent collaborators Shaunn Watt and Peter Carruthers from Siskiyou, William Kendrick of Failing and Andy Dixon.
"Crushed Pleats" is a nebulous pop paean, with low bass thwobs rumbling underfoot and tension-riddled synths imbuing the atmosphere with a warped sense of dread. The video that accompanies the noise is equally unsettling - perhaps more so - and sees everything morph into everything. It's been directed and edited by Ewan Jones Morris (John Grant).
"Crushed Pleats" will be released in March via Full Time Hobby. Dralms' debut album is expected in the summer.
The band will also play St. Pancras Old Church in London on 4 March; grab your tickets here.
