Probably one of the last things you’d expect to see released on Bella Union is a fat slab of sass, but then again, that’s what makes them such a great label. Expect the unexpected, as the saying goes. Continuing the theme of awesomeness that seems to be dominating everything that’s coming out of Brooklyn right now comes Rimar with ‘Higher Ground’. Released 7 November via BU on 12″ vinyl, the smooth deep-funk grooves of ‘Higher Ground’ perhaps hint at what Washed Out might sound like if Ernest Greene had spent his youth smoking blunts and listening to George Clinton records.
Sex music for hipsters. Just sayin’.
