Swedish noir-pop troupe DNKL have uncovered their debut music video; it's for "Wolfhour", and Eric Iver Persson has directed it.
Speaking about the clip, DNKL said:
"We are very happy Eric wanted to make this film for our track, and must say that we are really impressed by his work. We joined him during the two days of shooting to help out and assist him, and despite the cold december rain and extremely tight schedule we enjoyed being part of it. Eric more or less had free hands in the making of the video and we think his interpretation of the song is a captivating story that we are proud to use as a music video."
Persson added:
"For this project I wanted to make a film about struggle and despair, distance and connection - aspects of the human life that everybody in some way shares. I wanted to create something very cinematic and visually interesting that still had some levels of depth and surrealism behind it. It was shot over just two days with a very small crew, covering a lot of locations along the swedish west coast, from the city of Gothenburg down to the rocky shoreline in Kullaberg in Skåne, constantly battling to keep up with our shooting on schedule."
DNKL's "Wolfhour" 12" is out now via Sugarcane.
The band will head to the UK to perform at The Lexington in London on 5 March in a show presented by The Line Of Best Fit x Parallel Lines; tickets can be found here.
