Noir pop at its finest, Swedish three-piece DNKL revealed their debut track “Hunt” last month and it now has a video to match.
- Created by Jan David Günther and Bassi Lichtenberg, produced by Blackbloom and starring Nis Alps, the resulting footage is as dark and eerily beautiful as the song itself. Grainy black and white visuals depict haunting figures and abstract forrest scenes as they trace the mysterious underlying narrative of the lead male figure to its unsettling conclusion.
And “Hunt” itself, well it’s lost none of its potency in the past 3 weeks – its crackling electronic surface, surging bass and silky, half-whispered vocals remain an an utterly enticing prospect.
When asked about “Hunt”, DNKL kindly sent us a little digital postcard.
