Watch: Callum Pickard & The Third Look - "Lonely Boy and Girl"
Coventry lo-fi rock outfit Callum Pickard & The Third Look may still all be under 20, but their track "Lonely Boy and Girl" wields immense maturity.
It's the outfits debut single proper - though earlier output has seen they garner comparisons to the likes of Real Estate and Kurt Vile - and features a video spliced together from old clips of black'n'white film. The track itself is a fuzzy guitar pop track, not unlike Alex G, with twinkling riffs and shimmering cymbals. Towards the end, a saxophone interjects, adding a new layer to the guitar and bass melange; it's a simmering Sunday morning haze that Pickard & Co. have created, and its sublime.
