Watch: Boxed In - "Foot Of The Hill" [Premiere]
Producer/singer-songwriter Boxed In - AKA Oli Bayston - has already spent a heap of time in the industry, writing for The 2 Bears, singing for George Fitzegerald and producing artists such as The Voyeurs, Rosie Lowe and The Bohicas, but he's now venturing into solo territory. The new single is due out on 26 January.
Influenced by the disparated "motorik rhythms of Can, Cluster and Neu! as well as house producers like Pépé and Theo Parrish," Boxed In creates an organic dance belter in "Foot Of The Hill". Its roaring bass lick provides a counterpoint to scratchy guitar punctuation, but the real propulsive force comes from the marching snare ratatats.
The video is a pulpy escapade, putting to film raunchy sci-fi/horror comics of the '50s and '60s.
