Newcastle’s Blank Maps have wasted no time in building on the foundations of their 2012 breakthrough with this moving accompanying video for new single ‘Everything Ends’. The Tyneside quartet paint a tender yet euphoric dance pop mural using blocks of vibrant primary coloured guitar and heady Balearic beats while the quivering pitched tones of vocalist Thom Piddock and muted visuals add a nervous tint to the piece.
Striking the perfect balance between brittle melodrama and simmering beach rave, ‘Everything Ends’ cements Blank Maps’ burgeoning reputation as one of the North’s most emotive and technically adept new bands.
