Watch: BARLI - "Rum Woman" [Premiere]
London's BARLI has unveiled a new video for smoky track "Rum Woman", directed by Tom Sharman in and around Hackney.
The track is hypnotic noir&B, pulsing with bass synths and the echoing clank of percussion. Her sultry mantra of "I'm your rum woman, I'm your rum woman/got you betting on me 100/1 woman..." glides through BANKS-dark backing, and although it's a creeping tune, it's ludicrously poppy. It'll be rattling around your head for days, long after the final beat falls silent.
The video mirrors the sonic magic, with shades of grey commingling with rippling reflections, faded shots of BARLI and dim lights.
BARLI will make her live debut on 26 January at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen; you can grab free tickets for it here.
