San Francisco duo vverevvolf return with the simplistic sonic power-pop of "Sugar & Spice"
Vverevvolf have returned with the follow-up to their debut EP with the equally addictive "Sugar & Spice".
The San Francisco natives have once again balanced pop conventions with charged electro and heaps of attitude. Mixed by Stuart Hawkes, who worked closely with Charli XCX on the Number 1 Angel, mixtape, it is a similarly rapid, immediate sonic hit of pure, simplistic sugar-pop.
The duo have accompanied the release with an equally frantic video directed by Raùl Gonz, which acts as a perfect visual introduction to the band’s bold, clear aesthetic.
For an act who have only released one EP to date, vverevvolf have a clear trajectory for both their sound and vision and with every release this vision becomes more realised.
Speaking on this new release, the band commented: “This is the first song we ever worked on together. The song is really special to us because of that, but it’s also exciting because it feels like a huge step forward for us as a band. We’re really embracing a more poppy and energetic sound with this new song and EP. Our new music is a lot more focused on talking about our relationships with the outside world, rather than just ourselves and our thoughts.”
